Supportive Pattern

On 22 March 1999, Cyclone Vance bore down on Exmouth. The storm unleashed torrential rain and winds of up to 267km/hr, the strongest ever recorded on mainland Australia.

Cyclone Vance left a trail of destruction that tested our community’s resilience, however the destruction also forged friendships and from the hardship of recovery blossomed a community spirit defined by courage, determination and selflessness.

Please join the Shire of Exmouth in marking the 20th anniversary of Cyclone Vance with a commemorative morning tea and exhibition of memorabilia on Friday 22 March 2019, commencing at 10am, at the Ningaloo Centre.

All are welcome to attend this free event.

Please RSVP for catering purposes; online at or to the Shire of Exmouth via phone (08) 9949 3000 or in person at their Administration Office in the Ningaloo Centre.
