Turtle Nesting

The Ningaloo Coast is recognised as one of the most important nesting grounds in the world for green and loggerhead turtles. Every year from November through to March, mature female turtles make their arduous journey from the sea up the beaches to lay their eggs, and approximately 60 days after laying, the hatchlings emerge and make their dash to the sea. The beaches south of the Vlamingh Head Lighthouse are prime turtle rookeries with the Jurabi Turtle Centre available for information.
