  • Entries for the 2023 EXMAS Christmas Lights Competition close on 3 December
  • Lucky winners share $2,500 in local shop vouchers, supporting local businesses and “shop small” messaging this holiday season

The Shire of Exmouth and Horizon Power urges Exmouth locals and business owners to find their inner Buddy the Elf or Clark Griswold as they decorate this holiday season. With $2,500 worth of prizes in the form of vouchers to local businesses, the 4th annual EXMAS Christmas Lights Competition will be the holliest, jolliest one yet!

Funded by the Shire of Exmouth and Horizon Power through its Community Partnership Grants Program, the EXMAS competition is designed to support the "shop local" message while bringing the joy of the holiday season to stores and front yards across town.

Once all the entries are in, the Shire of Exmouth will publish a 2023 EXMAS Christmas Lights Trail Map so locals and visitors can make the most of the festive season with self-guided walks and drives between 7 and 31 December.

A panel of judges will award prizes ranging in value from $100 to $500 for the top 5 houses in the residential category and the Best Themed Shop Window Display and Best Themed Business Display in the commercial category.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to vote online for their favourite festive home between Thursday, 7 December at 9 am and Sunday, 17 December at 10 pm. The People's Choice Best Home Award winner will receive a $300 voucher to a local Exmouth business.

All winners will be announced on the Shire of Exmouth website and Facebook page on Monday, 18 December 2023.
